Tuesday, 27th March 2007

Former Australian Champion Super Impose (Imposing-Pheroz Fancy, by Taipan) has been euthanased aged 22 at Queensland's Glenlogan Park Stud due to the infirmities of old age. Super Impose notched 20 wins (9 Gr1 victories: Doncaster Handicap twice, Epsom Handicap twice, Ranvet Stakes twice, Chipping Norton Stakes twice & Cox Plate) plus 32 placings (including runner-up in both the Gr1 Cox Plate & Gr1 Melbourne Cup) from 74 starts for $5,659,290 earnings. Glenlogan stud manager Steve Morley commented: "For the past 10 years or so he had been a nanny to the weanlings at the farm & he was the best nanny we had. He will be missed greatly. We have buried him at the farm & have erected a plaque in his honour."
