Florida OBSC 2YOs Day-2: US$900k Forest Wildcat Colt
Agent Jimmy Gladwell (representing Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum's Darley Stable) paid the Day-2 top price of US$900,000 for a Forest Wildcat colt (out of Capote mare Whattacapote) during the closing session at the 2-day Ocala Breeders' Sales Co March Sale of Selected 2YOs-In-Training in Ocala in Florida. The colt (consigned by Eisaman Equine, which purchased him for US$120,000 at the 2006 Keeneland September yearling sale) worked 2 furlongs in 21.2sec during the pre-sale breeze-ups. Gladwell (who signed the ticket in the name of John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed's primary bloodstock agent) noted it was likely the colt would stay in the US for training & told thoroughbredtimes.com: "The colt worked really well & got over the ground really well. We liked him in September & we liked him even better after we saw him work. Shari & Barry Eisaman are close friends of ours; we trust their judgment & they felt he's one of the best horses they've had. He jumped through all the hoops. He's just a horse we felt we needed to have in our stable." Barry Eisaman added: "We didn't know what he would bring, but we set our reserves very low. We're here to sell."
