Double Dare Wins The Schweppervescence

Monday, 2nd April 2007

NZ Waikato Stud sire O'Reilly (Last Tycoon-Courtza, by Pompeii Court) added a black-type success when 5YO gelding Double Dare (O'Reilly-Dare, by Three Legs) grabbed an inside run to burst clear over the last 200m for a 1.75-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed The Schweppervescence (1200m) at Rosehill. Double Dare (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer Chris Waller) returned from a 2-months break to make it 4 wins from his last 5 starts in defeating front-running 6YO gelding King Rex (Carry The Crown-Vanity Miss, by Tattenham) & fellow 6YO gelding Sunset Run (End Sweep-Skating, by At Talaq). Double Dare (a NZ$40,000 yearling consigned by Waikato Stud at the 2003 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 9 wins & 8 placings from 31 starts for $343,850 earnings.
