Forensics Wins Gr1 Golden Slipper

Monday, 2nd April 2007

In Australia, Arrowfield Stud sire Flying Spur (Danehill-Rolls, by Mr Prospector) added a Gr1 triumph in the nation's premier juvenile race when daughter Forensics (Flying Spur-Prove It, by Dehere) scored a short-neck victory over the males in the $3.5 million Gr1 Golden Slipper (1200m) for 2YOs at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney. Forensics (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer John Hawkes) defeated the colts Zizou (Fusaichi Pegasus-Natural Is My Name, by Naturalism) & Meurice (Strategic-Espadon, by Danehill). Forensics was a $900,000 yearling purchased by Woodlands Stud & consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney (making her the most expensive yearling ever sired by Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Flying Spur). She now boasts 3 wins (also including the Gr3 Kindergarten Stakes over 1100m at Warwick Farm on March 3) from 4 starts for $2,114,005 earnings.
