Giant's Causeway Adds US Gr3

Monday, 2nd April 2007

Former Coolmore shuttler Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat-Mariah's Storm, by Rahy) added a US group quinella when Fairbanks (Giant's Causeway-Alaska Queen, by Time For A Change) "set a determined pace on the inside & drew off in the stretch for a dominating 6.75-lengths win" in the US$107,000 Gr3 Tokyo City Handicap (9 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at Santa Anita Park in California, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Fairbanks (ridden by Richard Migliore for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated multiple stakes-placed Neko Bay (Giant's Causeway-Brulay, by Rubiano) & Racketeer (Awesome Again-Noble Robyn, by Skip Trial). Kentucky-bred Fairbanks (a half-brother to Gr2 winner Keats) now has 4 wins from 8 starts for US$147,263 earnings.
