Just A Dream Wins NZ Southern Island Breeders

Windsor Park Stud's champion NZ sire of the last 5 seasons Volksraad (Green Desert-Celtic Assembly, by Secretariat) added a black-type quinella when 6YO mare Just a Dream (Volksraad-Majestic Angel, by Imperial Seal) scored a half-length victory in the NZ$75,000 Listed South Island Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1600m) for fillies & mares at Riccarton Park. Just A Dream (ridden by Chris Johnson for trainer Neill Ridley) defeated 4YO mare Smitten Kitten (Volksraad-Vanderbilt, by Last Tycoon) & fellow 6YO mare Little Jess (Tuscany Flyer-Jessica Fletcher, by Gaius). Just A Dream (a NZ$30,000 yearling at the 2002 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) took her record to 6 wins & 7 placings (including 3rd in this same race last year) from 26 starts.
