Nightlign Wins NZ Gr1 Manawatu Sires

In New Zealand, unbeaten juvenile colt Nightlign (Align-Indian Squaw, by Carolingian) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the NZ$175,000 Gr1 Ford Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) for 2YOs at Awapuni. Nightlign (ridden by Michael Coleman for trainers Keith & Brendon Hawtin) defeated the filly Fleur De Here (Dehere-Fleur De'Chine, by Centaine) & fast-finishing last start Gr1-winning fellow colt Alamosa (O'Reilly-Lodore Mystic, by Centaine). Course commentator Tony Lee declared: "Nightlign looked fantastic, he's got muscles on his eyeballs this bloke & he really let go with a terrific performance!" Nightlign took his record to 3 wins from 3 starts.
