NZ Champ Tidal Light Dies Aged 23

Former NZ Horse-Of-The-Year Tidal Light (Diagramatic-Azores, by King of Babylon) died in Australia at Woodlands Stud in the NSW Hunter Valley aged 23. Tidal Light's 3YO racetrack achievements "were such that she pipped Bonecrusher for the title of 1987 NZ Horse-Of-The-Year & was the top filly on the 1986-87 Australasian 3YO Classification," noted NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. Tidal Light (trained by Jim Gibbs) recorded 10 wins including 1987 victories in the Gr1 Canterbury Guineas (1900m) & Gr1 Air New Zealand Stakes (2000m), plus the 1986 Gr1 New Zealand Derby (2400m). Tidal Light spent the last 15 years of her life at Woodlands & has produced 12 foals to race for 7 winners.
