Delay To Fallon UK Court Case

Tuesday, 3rd April 2007

In the UK, top jockey Kieren Fallon "will have to endure a further 2-month delay for the hearing of his application to have the alleged race-fixing case against him dismissed," reported thoroughbredinternet.com. Fallow is "due to stand trial (along with fellow jockeys Fergal Lynch & Darren Williams) charged with conspiracy to defraud in London's Old Bailey court on September 24, but his lawyers were hoping to have the application heard on April 11"; however the trial judge "has fallen ill & a new date of June 5 has been set". Fallon is due to resume race riding on June 7, "after failing a drug test in France & incurring a 6-months suspension"; he is banned from riding in England while the case is pending.
