Forensics & Divine Madonna Vinery Connection

Tuesday, 3rd April 2007

While both Woodlands Stud (owner of the winner) & Arrowfield Stud (owner of the winning sire) took great comfort from the Gr1 triumph by 2YO filly Forensics (Flying Spur-Prove It, by Dehere) in the nation's premier juvenile race, the Golden Slipper (1200m), Vinery Stud too had reason to celebrate. The winner's dam Prove It was owned by Tom Simon when she was sent to Flying Spur & she bore Forensics at Vinery. Simon (who was on-course at Rosehill to watch Forensics win) commented: "We sold Prove It in the reduction sale. Unfortunately she has since died, but it was great to receive recognition for Vinery on Slipper day. Vinery is a great nursery for raising babies & Forensics (a $900,000 yearling purchased by Woodlands & consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale) proved that." As if to emphasise the point, in the very next race on the Rosehill card 4YO mare Divine Madonna (Hurricane Sky-My Madonna, by Prego) produced her trademark explosive finish to win the Gr1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1500m); she too was born at Vinery. Forensics has now won $2,114,005 & Divine Madonna (an $82,500 yearling at the 2004 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) has won $1,164,890.
