Macedon Lodge To Be Sold

Wednesday, 4th April 2007

Macedon Lodge (the world class training facility at Mount Macedon in Victoria) is to be sold by way of mortgagee sale. The property was originally developed by Kurt Stern & sold to film-maker John Tatoulis in 2004 for an undisclosed sum. Eliza Park Racing currently leases the property, where it conducts its pre-training & racing business (the property will be sold with its lease in place). Eliza Park chief executive Cameron Croucher commented: "We have no interest in buying the property, however we'd be happy to continue to remain at Macedon Lodge under a lease arrangement. We've been operating at Macedon Lodge for the past 4 years & it fits our operation very well, being only 15 minutes away from our main farm. However our focus is to put our resources into stallions, rather than acquiring further horse real estate at this stage".
