Texas 2YOs: US$180,000 for Storm Passage Colt

Thursday, 5th April 2007

And at the Fasig-Tipton Texas 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale an already named Louisiana-bred colt, Righteous Brother, a 1st crop member of freshman sire Storm Passage (Storm Cat-Terre Haute, by Caro) "topped the sale with a US$180,000 bid from trainer Steve Asmussen, who signed the ticket for Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt's Heiligbrodt Racing Stable," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The sale-topping colt is out of Sweep and Roll, by former ill-fated Arrowfield Stud shuttler End Sweep (Forty Niner-Broom Dance, by Dance Spell). Righteous Brother recorded the joint fastest time for one furlong at the pre-sale breeze-ups. He was originally purchased for US$20,000 by consignor Robert Brewer at the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana fall mixed sale in October 2006.
