Camarilla Wins Gr1 Sires Produce Stakes

Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a significant Group success when Woodlands Stud's boom filly Camarilla (Elusive Quality-Camarena, by Danehill) won the $420,000 Gr1 Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick after turning for home at the turn of the rear of the field. Camarilla (ridden by Darren Beadman for trainer John Hawkes) scored by 2 lengths from colt Meurice (Strategic-Espadon, by Danehill) with a further neck to fellow filly Sashenka (Orientate-Royal Solitaire, by Brocco). Camarilla (a $900,000 yearling consigned by Darley at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale) now has 2 wins (including the Gr3 Arrowfield Stud Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for 2YO fillies at Caulfield & 1 placing (including the Gr2 Magic Night Stakes for 2YO fillies (1200m) at Rosehill) from 5 starts for $425,350 earnings.
