Hot N Ready Wins Listed PJ Bell Handicap

Vinery Stud's shuttler More Than Ready (Southern Halo-Woodman's Girl, by Woodman) celebrated an AJC Carnival stakes winner when favoured Hot 'N' Ready (More Than Ready-All Trumped Up, by Flying Spur) won the $100,000 Listed PJ Bell Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies in facile fashion. Superbly piloted by Damien Oliver, who saved valuable ground on the fence, the Steve Englebrecht-trained filly defeated Doojah (Danewin-Nawadde, by Marscay) by 2.25 lengths. Melbourne raider Miss Fantabulous (Encosta De Lago-Miss Chanel, by Splendent) was a further short head back in 3rd. A $40,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Classic Sale, the victory took Hot 'N' Ready's record to 4 wins and 4 placings (including the $70,000 Listed Eskimo Prince Stakes (1100m) for 3YOs at Randwick) from 11 starts for earnings of $195,940.
