Silver Wagon Wins US Gr1 Carter Handicap

Tuesday, 10th April 2007

In the process taking his earnings beyond the US$1 million mark, 6YO stallion Silver Wagon (Wagon Limit-So Ritzy, by Darn That Alarm) took advantage of "a wicked speed duel" in landing the US$300,000 Gr1 Carter Handicap (7 furlongs) at Aqueduct, reported bloodhorse.com. The winner of 2 of his previous 3 starts, and with Javier Castellano in the irons for trainer Richard Dutrow Jr, Silver Wagon proved too strong for 4YO entire Diabolical (Artax-Bonnie Byerly, by Dayjur) and 4YO gelding Ah Day (Malibu Moon-Endette by Thirty Eight Paces). Silver Wagon will now be aimed at the Gr1 Metropolitan Handicap in late May.
