Inglis Easter Day 1: $1.4m Elusive Quality-Blue Quail Colt
Prior to the sale big things had been predicted for the progeny of Darley's emerging shuttle stallion Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor), and the victory last Saturday of Camarilla (Elusive Quality-Camarena, by Danehill) in the Gr1 Sires Produce Stakes provided buyers with the necessary confidence to go to the next level. Tim Stakemire (Australian agent for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum) paid $1.4 million for Lot 79, an Elusive Quality colt out of Blue Quail, a Bluebird full-sister to dual Gr1-winning mare Flitter, and a grand-daughter of Gr1 VRC Sires Produce Stakes winner Outward Bound. The filly was consigned by Haunui Farm of New Zealand.
