Anwaar Wins Listed Hall Mark Stakes

Emirates Park Stud stallion and former Gr1 Doncaster winner Secret Savings (Seeking The Gold-Jurisdictional, by Damascus) enjoyed a stakes-race success yesterday at Randwick's Oaks meeting when 5YO gelding Anwaar (Secret Savings-Eajaab, by Tragic Role) won the $100,000 Listed Hall Mark Stakes (1200m). Ridden by Nash Rawiller, who recently moved from Melbourne to ride for trainer Gai Waterhouse, Anwaar was just a short neck in front of favoured 4YO gelding Posadas (Commands-Navidad, by Christmas Tree), with a further neck back to 6YO gelding King Rex (Carry The Crown-Vanity Miss, by Tattenham). Anwaar, who now has 8 wins & 7 placings from 18 starts for earnings of $382,950 is raced by Emirates Park's principal His Excellency Nasser Abdullah Hussain Lootah, who is in Sydney for the Inglis Easter Sales.
