Virage De Fortune Inglis Broodmare Drawcard
At next week's William Inglis & Son Select Broodmare Sale, one of the expected sale toppers is Virage De Fortune (Anabaa-Virage, by Kenmare). Showing a return to form in last Saturday's Gr1 AJC T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) where she finished a game 3rd, Virage De Fortune's earnings are currently just $50,000 shy of $1 million. At one stage considered the fastest filly in Australia, she will attempt to go out on a winning note when contesting Saturday's Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick. So far the winner of 8 of her 20 starts (including the Gr1 MVRC Australia Stakes & Gr1 QTC Sires' Produce Stakes), the grey's pedigree is heavily laden with black-type performers, receiving a further recent update through the deeds of Zabeel gelding Railings who took his career earnings past the $3 million mark with recent Gr1 placings in both the STC Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and STC The BMW (2400m). Lot 366 at the broodmare sale, Yarraman Park (as agent) will offer Virage De Fortune for her connections which include bloodstock agent James Bester and leading owners Tim Hughes and Michael Sullivan.
