Arrowfield Stud Announces 2007 Fees

Monday, 16th April 2007

The much-mooted fee hike for current leading sire Flying Spur (Danehill-Rolls, by Mr Prospector) has been announced by Arrowfield Stud, along with the remainder of their stallion fees for 2007. With an unassailable lead in the 2YO division, and only breeding barn colleague Redoute's Choice in with a hope of catching the Gr1 STC Golden Slipper winning son of Danehill, Flying Spur's GST inclusive fee will rise to $99,000. His yearlings averaged $281,000 at the just completed Inglis Easter Sale. All other stallion fees will remain the same with the exception of current Champion Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad), whose fee including GST will be $330,000. That follows his yearlings' average of $662,100 at Easter from 57 sold (the largest contingent by one sire at the sale), and the serving of 38 mares to northern hemisphere time. "I'd like to think that all our stallions are good value for breeders and with what I know of their work-in-progress I am confident that breeders who are judicious with their matings can do very well out of our horses in 2007," said Arrowfield's managing director John Messara. The full Arrowfield line-up is:

  • Charge Forward ($24,750)
  • Danzero ($27,500)
  • Flying Spur ($99,000)
  • Hussonet ($38,500)
  • Not A Single Doubt ($13,750)
  • Redoute's Choice ($330,000)
  • Snitzel ($33,000)
  • Starcraft ($33,000)
