Hot Danish Wins Gr2 Emancipation Stakes

Monday, 16th April 2007

Byerley Stud's highly underrated stallion Nothin' Leica Dane (Danehill-Leica Pretender, by Sir Tristram) looks to have one of the most promising young fillies in the land after fancied 3YO filly Hot Danish (Nothin' Leica Dane-Hot 'n' Breezy, by Zephyr Zip) made it 4 successive wins with victory in the $175,000 Gr2 Woodlands Emancipation Stakes (1400m) for fillies and mares at Randwick. Ridden by apprentice Tim Clark for trainer Les Bridge, Hot Danish was 1.5 lengths too strong for 5YO mare Kosi Bay (Spinning World-Calvinia, by Varick) with a further length back to 4YO mare More Than Lucky (More Than Ready-Cerebello, by Centro). Hot Danish (a $32,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Scone Sale) now has 5 wins from 6 starts for $253,180 earnings. She is a full-sister to Bridge's fellow metropolitan winner Prince Frederik.
