Roman Time Wins Gr3 WA Sires Produce Stakes

Monday, 16th April 2007

Ill-fated former Western Australia-based Alwyn Park Stud shuttler Danetime (Danehill-Allegheny River, by Lear Fan) sired a 2YO stakes winner when 2YO gelding Roman Time (Danetime-True Roman, by Is It True) comfortably won the $175,000 Gr3 WA Sire Produce Stakes (1400m) at Ascot. Ridden by Peter Knuckey for trainer Fred Kersley, Roman Time finished 1.25 lengths in front of favoured stablemate filly Jestajune (Rory's Jester-Umatune, by Umatilla) with a neck to 3rd placed filly Moisture (Mossman-Lady At War, by Wild Again). A $44,000 yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Perth Premier Sale, Roman Time now has 3 wins (including the $500,000 Gr2 Karrakatta Plate) & 3 placings from 9 starts for earnings of $469,950.
