Sand Sweeper Wins Listed Great Easter Handicap

At New Zealand's Riccarton Park 6YO gelding Sand Sweeper (Sandtrap-Calm As, by Conquistarose) was a neck too good for 6YO entire Flight Captain (Seasoned Star, by Capital Flight, by Noble Bijou) in the Listed Great Easter Handicap (1400m). Third was 6YO mare Pins 'n' Needles (Pins-Raining, by Centaine) who was a further 1.25 lengths astern. Sandsweeper was ridden by Chris Johnson for trainer Hec Anderton. A NZ$12,000 weanling at the 2001 NZB Broodmare Sale, he now has 10 wins & 12 placings from 31 starts.
