Magic Millions To Sell 3/4 Brother To Record Inglis Colt

Tuesday, 17th April 2007

A three-quarter brother to the $3 million colt who brought the recent Australia Easter Yearling Sale to a standstill is set to go under the hammer at the upcoming Magic Millions National Weanling Sale. The Rock of Gibraltar-L'on Vite colt was the top seller at the Sydney auction and was knocked down to champion trainer Gai Waterhouse for an Australian record-equalling price of $3 million. As well as being a three-quarter brother to champion European juvenile and exciting young stallion Holy Roman Emperor (who makes his debut at Coolmore Stud this season), the record-breaking colt is a 3 parts brother to Lot 103 for the first session of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on May 30. Consigned by leading Scone based nursery Kitchwin Hills whose stud manager Mick Malonedes describes him as a "cracker", the colt is by Rock of Gibraltar out of Eishin Maysville, by Jade Hunter. A 1200m winner in Japan, Eishin Maysville is a daughter of L'on Vite, and a half-sister to stakes winners Milanova, Big Viking and Heart of Oak, from the immediate family of champion galloper and wonderful matriarch Fanfreluche. Rock of Gibraltar is the leading freshman sire of individual stakes winners courtesy of Murtajill, Superfly, Sliding Cube and Gibraltar Campion.
