Two Noses Shy For Jungle Pocket

Tuesday, 17th April 2007

A nose - two of them in fact - were enough to deny Rich Hill Stud's exciting young stallion Jungle Pocket (Tony Bin-Dance Charmer, by Nureyev) a maiden Gr1 win in Japan over the weekend. In the Gr1 Satsuki Sho (2000m) for 3YOs, the official margin was a nose by a nose between sophomore colts Victory (Brian's Time-Grace Admire, by Tony Bin), Sun Zeppelin (Tenby-Plant Ogygian, by Ogygian) & Fusaichi Ho O (Jungle Pocket-Admire Sunday, by Sunday Silence). Jungle Pocket's oldest crop are 2YOs of the current Australasian season, while in Japan, where his oldest are 3, he has already produced two Group winners. At the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka this year, Japanese buyer K.Yoshida paid NZ$360,000 for a colt by Jungle Pocket.
