Arrowfield In No Doubt About Sire's Prospects

Thursday, 19th April 2007

Even though reigning Australian Champion Sire Redoute's Choice was without a representative in this year's Golden Slipper, Arrowfield Stud still managed to parlay the result into a massive win for their Hunter Valley property. Not only did Flying Spur make it 4 Golden Slippers in a row for Arrowfield stallions (Danzero & Redoute's Choice sired the 3 previous winners between them), the result also significantly upgraded what was already an extremely good pedigree for 2005 freshman sire Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Singles Bar by Rory's Jester). The young stallion, who had a massive boom on him from day 1 as a juvenile, now boasts not just this year's Woodlands Stud-owned Slipper winner Forensics close up in his pedigree, but also that of runner-up Zizou. "This year's Golden Slipper confirms that the family created by Easy Date is one of the most important in the Australian Studbook today," said Arrowfield managing director John Messara. "These kind of families are the ones that not only throw up the best producers, they also throw up successful stallions. I have faith in Not A Single Doubt making a stallion because of the fact that he is a member of this family and possessed brilliant speed." Not A Single Doubt's dam Singles Bar is by Golden Slipper winner Rory's Jester and is a half-sister to inaugural Magic Millions winner and subsequent leading stallion Snippets - the sire of 56 stakes winners. A full-bother to Not A Single Doubt made $1.6 million in 2006, and at the 2007 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, the 1st foal of Not A Single Doubt's half-sister Bella Sunday brought $1.4 million whilst another colt from the immediate family fetched $750,000. Not A Single Doubt's 1st 2 seasons have seen him cover 221 mares which will strongly in favour of breeders who support him in year 3. With a weanling selling for $70,000 at the Inglis Select Sale this week, Not A Single Doubt's service fee in 2007 remains unchanged at $13,750.
