Timely Updates For NZ Mixed Sale

Thursday, 19th April 2007

NZB will hold its Autumn Mixed Bloodstock Sale at Karaka on Sunday, and several recent racetrack performances have provided timely updates to some of the 206 entries in the catalogue. Due to start at 11am on Sunday 22 April, the sale comprises weanlings, yearlings, 2YOs, unraced horses, racehorses and broodmares. Significant updates since the catalogue went to print include:

  • Lot 142 Herron Bay (Wallenda-Dalmator): this mare is related to the consistent galloper Crusoe (Volksraad-Caserio), who was 2nd behind Royal Admiral in the Listed S$3million QEII Cup (2000m) in Singapore on Sunday.
  • Lot 156 Lady Tryphina (Danasinga-Logical Miss): the mare is a close relative to the consistent juvenile Alamosa (O'Reilly-Lodore Mystic) whose win in the Gr1 Ford Diamond Stakes (1200m) was franked with a 3rd placing in the only other elite 2YO race of the season, the Ford Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes (1400m).
  • Lot 158 Leander (Tights-Liefkin): the mare is a half-sister to Dare, the dam of recent Listed STC Maurice McCarten Stakes (1200m) winner, Double Dare (O'Reilly-Dare), trained by New Zealand expat, Chris Waller.

Also in the sale are entries related to the recent black type performers Black Ink, High Cee, Pinmdown, Stickpin, Thee Auld Hussie and to the recent Caulfield winner Bashful.
