Anamato Wins Gr1 Schweppes Oaks

Monday, 23rd April 2007

And Arrowfield Stud stallion Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) celebrated another Gr1 victory when 3YO filly Anamato (Redoute's Choice-Voltage, by Whiskey Road) won the $250,000 Gr1 SAJC Schweppes Oaks (2000m) for 3YO fillies at Morphettville. Starting favourite, and ridden by in-form jockey Michael Rodd for trainer David Hayes, Anamato was 1.5 lengths too good for Cancanelle (Danehill Dancer-Richelle, by Century) who was a short half-head in front of Devil Moon (King Cugat-Classy Babe, by Masterclass). Anamato now has 4 wins (including the Gr2 MRC Kewney Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield, Gr2 Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic (1500m) at Moonee Valley & the Gr3 Darley Sires' Produce Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville) & 8 placings for $813,350. She is a half-sister to Tambour (sold last week for $440,000 at the Inglis Select Broodmare Sale and the dam of multiple Gr1 winner Grand Armee).
