Cinque Cento Wins Gr2 Queen Of The South Stakes

Byerley Stud stallion Nothin' Leica Dane celebrated a Group success when favoured 5YO mare Cinque Cento (Nothin' Leica Dane-Laydown Misere, by Varick) won the $150,000 Gr2 SAJC Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) for females 3YO & up at Morphettville. Ridden by Steven Arnold for trainer Peter Moody, Cinque Cento's winning margin was three-quarters of a length over 4YO mare Isanami (Tayasu Tsuyoshi-Persephonie, by Rivotious), with a short half-head to fellow 5YO mare Subsequential (Second Empire-Residual, by Zeditave). Cinque Cento (sold for $255,000 at the 2006 Magic Millions National Sale) now boasts 4 wins (including the $100,000 Listed JRA Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield and Gr3 Doomben Roses over 2020m) at Doomben) & 5 placings (including the Gr1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm) from 22 starts for $404,530 earnings.
