Arqana Sale 1: Records Fall For Fourth Straight Year
The global bloodstock boom shows little sign of abating, with France's only breeze-up sale (Arqana at Saint Cloud racecourse) setting new marks for the 4th consecutive year. According to racingpost.co.uk, "From 142 lots offered at the one-day auction, 92 juveniles were sold for an aggregate of €3,285,000 (A$5,256,000)" which saw the aggregate soar by 57% over last year's, which was itself a new record. The average rose 19% to €31,893 ($52,304), while "the median climbed by 30 per cent to €26,000 (A$42,640). There were 16 individual horses sold for €50,000 (A$82,000) and above, with the buying bench also including active participants from Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, and the Czech Republic.
