Thursday, 26th April 2007

Riverdene Stud's stallion Zariz (Mukaddamah-Divine Dash, by Tolomeo) celebrated his inaugural stakes success at Moonee Valley yesterday when 3YO gelding Lazer Sharp (Zariz-Scadabba, by Scenic) ran the field ragged after quickly hitting the front turning for home in the $200,000 Listed VRC St Leger (2500m). Ridden by Vlad Duric for trainer Jamie Edwards, Lazer Sharp won by an eased down 6 lengths from fellow 3YO geldings Speelberg (Zabeel-Cause A Scene, by Scenic), and fancied Ballack (Montjeu-Trephina, by Last Tycoon), another long-neck behind. Lazer Sharp now has 3 wins & 7 placings from 14 starts for $174,550 earnings.
