Stoney Bridge 1: 2007 Fees Announced

Thursday, 26th April 2007

New Zealand's Stoney Bridge Stud has announced its 2007 fees for stallions at both their Karaka farm, near Auckland, and their Waikato operation at Matamata. Aside from a service fee rise to NZ$15,000 (up from NZ$8,500) for promising young stallion Postponed (whose applications close on June 15), there are no other fee rises.  There are, however, 3 Stoney Bridge Stallions that will stand at reduced fees in 2007. Waikato-based NZ Derby winner St. Reims (by Zabeel) will stand at NZ$7,000, down from NZ$8,000 last year. "This fee adjustment will allow St. Reims to compare very favourably with other domestic Gr1 or Gr2-winning stallions in the market", observed Stoney Bridge Manager, Peter Jenkins. Ekraar (the Gr1-winning Red Ransom half-brother to Arrowfield Stud shuttler Hussonet) who has stood for his initial 3 seasons at NZ$10,000 has been reduced to NZ$8,500 in 2007. "We are delighted with his yearlings who sold up to NZ$105,000 at the NZB Select Sale this year and wish to ensure he maintains his book numbers by offering a reduction in what is his 4th season at stud," commented Jenkins. Also reduced is the internationally-performed Danehill Gr3 winner and Gr1-placed Hawkeye (standing for NZ$7,500 (down from $8,500 last year). "Hawkeye in his 2nd season in 2006 actually served 18 mares more than he covered in his initial season and we want to maintain that momentum", added Jenkins. The line-up & fees are:

  • NZ$15,000 + GST Postponed (USA) (by Summer Squall)
  • NZ$10,000 + GST Storming Home (GB) (by Machiavellian)
  • NZ$8,500 + GST Ekraar (USA) (by Red Ransom)
  • NZ$7,500 + GST Hawkeye (IRE) (by Danehill)
  • NZ$7,000 + GST St Reims (NZ) (by Zabeel)
  • NZ$6,500 + GST Storm Creek (USA) (by Storm Cat)
  • NZ$6,000 + GST Mr. Nancho (ARG) (by Southern Halo)
