Danehill Dancer Adds UK Gr2

Monday, 30th April 2007

In the UK, Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a group success when US-bred 4YO entire Jeremy (Danehill Dancer-Glint In Her Eye, by Arazi) finished strongly from the rear of the field to score a 1.25-lengths victory in the £85,000 (A$204,000) Gr2 Sandown Mile (8 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at Sandown Park. Jeremy (ridden by Franki Dettori for trainer Sir Michael Stoute) defeated the mare Bahia Breeze (Mister Baileys-Ring Of Love, by Magic Ring) & Take A Bow (Royal Applause-Giant Nipper, by Nashwan). Last season Jeremy (a US$375,000 weanling at the Keeneland November Sale) won both the Gr3 Jersey Stakes (7 furlongs) at Royal Ascot & Listed King Charles II Stakes (7 furlongs) at Newmarket, as well as finishing runner-up in the Listed European Free Handicap (7 furlongs) at Newmarket. Jeremy's dam Glint In Her Eye (from Alzao mare Wind In Her Hair) is a half-sister to multiple Gr1-winning Japanese stayer Deep Impact.
