Montjeu Adds French Black-Type

Monday, 30th April 2007

Dual-Derby winning Coolmore sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a French black-type success when daughter Baroness Richter (Montjeu-Principium, by Hansel) scored a 1-length victory in the €52,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix Caravelle (2100m) for 3YO fillies at Toulouse. Baroness Richter (also ridden by Ioritz Mendizabal for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget) defeated previously unbeaten stable-mate Misk (Linamix-Gontcharova, by Zafonic) & Orion Girl (Law Society-Okocha, by Platini). Baroness Richter "is a half-sister to Kongo Rikishio (by Stravinsky) who became a Gr2 winner in Japan earlier this month," noted thoroughbredinternet.com.
