Tuesday, 31st July 2007

Former Darley shuttler & former Gr1 Dubai World Cup hero Street Cry (Machiavellian-Helen Street, by Troy) added a US group success when this year's Gr1 Kentucky Derby-winning colt Street Sense (Street Cry-Bedazzle, by Dixieland Band) returned from a 2-months lay-off to score a 1.5-lengths victory in the US$500,000 Gr2 Jim Dandy Stakes (9 furlongs) for 3YOs at Saratoga in New York. Street Sense (ridden by Calvin Borel for trainer Carl Nafzger) defeated C.P.West (Came Home-Queen's Legend, by Dynaformer) & Sightseeing (Pulpit-Resort, by Pleasant Colony). Last year's US Champion 2YO male Street Sense now boasts 5 wins (also including last year's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile over 8.5 furlongs at Churchill Downs by a record 10-lengths, plus this year's Gr3 Tampa Bay Derby over 8.5 furlongs) & 5 placings (including runner-up in the Gr1 Preakness Stakes over 9.5 furlongs at Pimlico on May 19, plus April's Gr1 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes over 9 furlongs, as well as 2006's Gr1 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity & Gr3 Arlington-Washington Breeders' Cup Futurity) from 10 starts for US$3,458,200 earnings.
