Monday, 3rd September 2007

In France, Widden Stud shuttler Anabaa (Danzig-Balbonella, by Gay Mecene) added a black-type success (& 49th stakes-winner world-wide) when daughter Hapsburg (Anabaa-Magical Hawk, by Silver Hawk) scored a half-length victory in the €52,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix De Liancourt (2100m) for 3YO fillies at Longchamp in Paris. Hapsburg (ridden by Thierry Jarnet for trainer Eric Libaud) defeated fast-finishing Mahara (Diesis-Siyadah, by Mr Prospector) & Bruxcalina (Linamix-Brusca, by Grindstone). Hapsburg was a €100,000 (A$160,000) yearling at the 2005 Deauville Sale.
