Miss Finland Wins Memsie Stakes

In Australia, champion Arrowfield Stud sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a Gr1 triumph when multiple Gr1-winning 4YO daughter & former champion juvenile Miss Finland (Redoute's Choice-Forest Pearl, by Woodman) returned from a 21-weeks spell to score a 1-length victory in the $200,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in Melbourne. Miss Finland (ridden by Craig Williams for trainer David Hayes) defeated Gr1-winning 4YO entire Haradasun (Fusaichi Pegasus-Circles Of Gold, by Marscay) & 4YO gelding Tipungwuti (Fusaichi Pegasus-So Gorgeous, by Brief Truce). Miss Finland (a $450,000 yearling consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 11 wins (also including both March's Gr1 Arrowfield Stud Stakes over 2000m at Rosehill & Gr1 Cadbury Guineas over 1600m at Caulfield, plus February's Gr2 Angus Armanasco Stakes over 1600m at Caulfield, as well as 2006's Gr1 Victoria Oaks over 2500m, Gr1 Thousand Guineas over 1600m, Gr3 Tranquil Star Stakes over 1400m & Gr3 McNeil Stakes over 1200m, & juvenile triumphs in both the Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes & Listed Talindert Stakes) & 3 runner-ups (in 2006's Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes over 1610m, plus both the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes & Gr1 Champagne Stakes as a 2YO) from 18 starts for $4,243,125 earnings.
