NSW Govt Warns Vaccine Is Not Silver Bullet

However the NSW Department Of Primary Industries warned horse owners "to be wary of vaccines that offer protection against equine influenza". NSW deputy chief veterinary officer Ian Roth said: "Unfortunately there is no silver bullet when it comes to equine influenza. Bio-security is paramount in the fight against this highly contagious disease & we can't overstate the importance of complying with these protocols. Our best line of defence is to halt all horse movements across the state & to stop visits between horse properties until further notice."
