King's Best Adds French Black-Type

Thursday, 6th September 2007

In France overnight, former Darley shuttler King's Best (Kingmambo-Allegretta, by Lombard) added a black-type success when 4YO mare King Luna (King's Best-Luna Caerla, by Caerleon) scored a half-length victory in the €52,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix Des Tourelles (2400m) for fillies & mares at Chantilly. King Luna (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer Andre Fabre) defeated 3YO filly Doe Ray Me (Singspiel-Ejlaal, by Caerleon) & fellow 4YO mare Sureyya (Monsun-Sankt Johanna, by High Game). King Luna (part of the Aga Khan's Lagadere acquisition) also won July's Listed Prix La Moskowa (3000m) at Chantilly & was twice stakes-placed last season (including the Listed Prix Vulcain 2500m at Deauville).
