Fasliyev Adds UK Gr3

Monday, 10th September 2007

Also in the UK, former Coolmore shuttler Fasliyev (Nureyev-Mr P's Princess, by Mr Prospector) added a group success when 4YO entire Steppe Dancer (Fasliyev-Exemina, by Slip Anchor) "came with a strong run on the wide outside to score a comfortable 1.5-lengths victory in track record time" in the £47,000 (A$113,000) Gr3 September Stakes (12 furlongs on the all-weather track) at Kempton, reported the-racehorse.com. Steppe Dancer (ridden by Tom Queally for trainer Denis Coakley) defeated the 3YO colts, front-running Al Tharib (Silver Hawk-Ameriflora, by Danzig) & fast-finishing Lion Sands (Montjeu-Puce, by Darshaan). Earlier this season Steppe Dancer also won March's Listed Dragonfly Stakes (12 furlongs on the all-weather track) at Kempton & has now notched victories in his last 4 starts on the all-weather surface; he was also previously placed in the Gr3 Ormonde Stakes.
