Invasor Fee US$35k At Nashwan Stud

Monday, 10th September 2007

US 2006 Horse-Of-The-Year & 5YO stallion Invasor (Candy Stripes-Quendom, by Interprete) "will stand the 2008 season for US$35,000 at Shadwell Farm's Nashwan Stud in Kentucky," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Invasor (who won last season's US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic) was retired in June "after being diagnosed with a fractured sesamoid in his right hind leg following a workout at Belmont Park". Invasor won his initial 5 starts in Uruguay (including a sweep of the Uruguayan 3YO Triple Crown) & was subsequently purchased privately by Sheikh Hamdan. His only defeat followed when 4th in the 2005 Gr2 United Arab Emirates Derby at Nad al Sheba. He won his US debut in the 2006 Gr1 Pimlico Special Handicap & followed with victories in the Gr1 Suburban Handicap, Gr1 Whitney Handicap & Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic. He returned this year to win the US Gr1 Donn Handicap & then the Gr1 Dubai World Cup at Nad al Sheba in his final start.
