Ireland Yearlings Day-3: $176k Danetime Colt
In the auction ring, pin-hooker Willie Brown paid the Day-3 top price of €110,000 (A$176,000) for a colt by ill-fated Tally-Ho Stud sire (& former Western Australia-based Alwyn Park Stud shuttler) Danetime (the 2nd foal out of Forty Niner mare Coloma) during the final session of the 3-day Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale. The colt (consigned by Gary Swift Sales) was a €9,000 (A$14,400) foal purchase at Goffs last November & his dam Coloma is from a family that goes back to the US Gr1 Breeders Cup Mile winner Opening Verse. Browne told racingpost.co.uk: "He might have been a bit expensive for a breeze-up horse, but the sire has been good to me & I'm a bit soft on him. Unfortunately they don't make Danetimes any more. He's a very athletic looking colt & looks like he'll be able to gallop."
