Special Mission Wins NZ Carters-Gib Stakes

Monday, 10th September 2007

In New Zealand, Little Avondale Stud's Australian-bred sire Towkay (Last Tycoon-Princess Tracy, by Ahonoora) added a black-type success when undefeated daughter Special Mission (Towkay-Te Akau Trek, by Khozaam) scored a 2-lengths victory in the NZ$60,000 Listed Carters-Gib Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies at Wanganui. Favourite Special Mission (ridden by Michael Walker for trainer Mark Walker) defeated front-running Dashing Donna (Don Eduardo-Epic Pulse, by Epidaurus) & Keepa Cruisin (Keeper-Just Cruising, by Broad Reach). Special Mission now has 3 wins (also including July's Listed Ryder Stakes over 1200m at Otaki) from 3 starts.
