Karen's Caper Retired To Stonerside

Stonerside Stable's multiple stakes-winning 5YO home-bred mare Karen's Caper (War Chant-Miss Caerleona, by Caerleon) "has been retired from racing & will join her graded stakes-winning dam Miss Caerleona in the farm's broodmare band at Stonerside in Kentucky," reported bloodhorse.com. Karen's Caper initially raced in England, where she won the 2005 Gr3 Shadwell Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes & finished 2nd in the 2005 Gr1 Coronation Stakes. Subsequently in the US she won both the Gr3 Eatontown Stakes in course-record time at Monmouth Park & Gr3 Noble Damsel Breeders' Cup Handicap at Belmont Park; in addition she finished 2nd in the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup, Gr2 First Lady Stakes & Gr2 Ballston Spa Handicap. Karen's Caper (a half-sister to Gr2-winner Miss Coronado) retires with 4 wins from 14 starts & US$622,113 earnings.
