Kentucky Yearlings Day-1: US$2.4m A.P.Indy Colt
Sheikh Mohammed's representative John Ferguson also paid US$2.4 million for an A.P.Indy colt (the 1st foal out of French high-weighted Storm Cat mare Denebola) consigned by Lane's End as agent. Denebola won France's 2003 Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac Criterium des Pouliches for owner-breeder the Niarchos family & Ferguson told thoroughbredtimes.com: "Quite honestly, a horse like that by A.PIndy out of an outstanding mare Denebola: it's a powerful combination! A.P.Indy is more regarded as an American sire, so I would expect the colt to stay in America, but that decision gets made later."
