Stormy River To Stud At France's Haras D'Etreham

In Europe, Gr1-winning 4YO stallion Stormy River (Verglas-Miss Bio, by River Mist) "is in the process of being syndicated & will stand at Haras d'Etreham upon completion of his racing career," reported thoroughbredinternet.com. This season Stormy River has won France's Gr3 Prix Messidor (1600m) at Deauville in July & finished 3rd in the Gr1 Prix d'Ispahan (1850m) at Longchamp in May. Last year he won France's Gr1 Prix Jean Prat (1600m) at Chantilly, Gr3 Prix de Fontainbleau (1600m) at Longchamp & Listed Prix Djebel (1400m) at Maisons-Laffitte, as well as finishing runner-up in both France's Gr1 Prix Du Moulin (1600m) at Longchamp & the UK Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes (8 furlongs) at Royal Ascot, plus 3rd in France's Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains-2000 Guineas (1600m) at Longchamp; & in 2005 he finished runner-up in France's Gr1 Criterium International (1600m) at Saint-Cloud. Bred in France, Stormy River was a €60,000 (A$96,000) yearling at the 2004 Deauville October sale.
