Kentucky Yearlings Day-2: US$3.7m Unbridled's Song Colt

Wednesday, 12th September 2007

Coolmore Stud principal John Magnier out-bid Clarence Scharbauer & paid US$3.7 million for a colt by former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Unbridled's Song (out of US 2000 Gr1 Kentucky Oaks & Gr1 Mother Goose Stakes-winning A.P.Indy mare Secret Status) in early action this morning (Australian time) during the 2nd session of the 15-day 5,553-lots Keeneland September Yearling Sale in Kentucky. The colt (consigned by Lane's End as agent) is from the family of multiple graded stakes-winner Alumni Hall & Coolmore spokesman Demi O'Byrne told thoroughbredtimes.com: "I loved the dam: she's a wonderful racemare. We've only had one good Unbridled's Song, the Gr1 Matron Stakes winner Marylebone, but I like this fellow very much. I hope the cross might give him the chance to stay."
