Thursday, 13th September 2007

US 8YO freshman sire Indy King (A.P.Indy-Queena, by Mr Prospector) recorded his 1st winner when Florida-bred 2YO colt Indy Joe (Indy King-Perfect Pearl, by Holy Bull) led all-the-way on debut to score by 7.25-lengths over 6 furlongs at Delaware Park, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Adena Springs principal Frank Stronach purchased Indy King (whose dam Queena was 1991 US champion older female) for US$2.2 million at the 2000 Keeneland September yearling sale; he now stands at Adena Springs South in Florida for US$2,000 & has 22 2YOs in his 1st crop. Indy King is an unraced full-brother to Gr3-winner La Reina & a half-brother to Gr1-winner & Vinery sire Brahms.
