Vinery US Sires Open For Southern-Time Covers

Vinery Kentucky owner Dr Tom Simon announced he is making available "the entire roster of stallions standing at Vinery US to Australian breeders wishing to purchase mares in America & have them covered to Southern Hemisphere time". Among the rostered stallions are:

  • this year's leading freshman sire Posse (Silver Deputy-Raska, by Rahy) who has already produced 6 stakes-winners from a 1st crop of just 59 foals;
  • brilliant juvenile Yonaguska (Cherokee Run-Marital Spook, by Silver Ghost) who has produced 5 individual stakes-winners this season from just 2 crops running;
  • last season's 3rd-placed North American 1st-season sire Pure Prize (by Storm Cat out of Champion 3YO filly & 8-time Gr1-winner Heavenly Prize, by Seeking The Gold) who has notched 5 stakes-winners this season;
  • Gr1-winner The Cliff's Edge (Gulch-Zigember, by Danzig) whose 1st crop yearlings sold up to US$175,000 at the recent Saratoga select sale;
  • Gr1-winner Purge (Pulpit-Copelan's Bid Gal, by Copelan) whose 1st-crop foals will sell at the November sales;
  • multiple Gr1-winner Silver Train (Old Trieste-Ridden In Thestars, by Cormorant) who has just completed an outstanding full book of mares in his 1st season at stud;
  • multiple Gr2-winner Limehouse (Grand Slam-Dixieland Blues, by Dixieland Band) whose 1st-crop foals will be yearlings in 2008.
