Kentucky Yearlings Day-3: Average Up 11.6%
Meanwhile when Day-3 finished at Keeneland, 260 yearlings had sold for US$52,835,000 (up 9.4% on last year's 265 sold for US$48,275,000). The session average of US$203,212 was up 11.6% (last year US$182,170) & the US$160,000 median was up 6.7% (last year US$150,000). Keeneland director of sales Geoffrey Russell told thoroughbredtimes.com: "We were very much encouraged today. It had a great feel from the start: a strong international feeling. I think on the 1st page, 8 of the 12 horses were sold to overseas buyers. It started strong & continued strong all the way through."
