Antarctic Miss Wins Champagne Stakes

NZ Brighthill Farm-based sire Ustinov (Seeking The Gold-Let's Elope, by Nassipour) recorded his 1st Australian stakes-winner when daughter Antarctic Miss (Ustinov-Far South, by Stark South) scored a half-length victory in the $120,000 Gr3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies at Moonee Valley. Antarctic Miss (ridden by Greg Childs for trainer Nigel Sutcliffe) defeated Bel Mer (Bel Esprit-Drop Anchor, by At Talaq) & Gladwell (Anabaa-Excitant, by Rory's Jester). Antarctic Miss (a NZ$70,000 yearling consigned by Brighthill Farm at the 2006 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale at Karaka) now has 2 wins & 2 placings (including last start's Listed Arrow Training Services Plate over 1200m at Caulfield on September 1) from 6 starts for $91,250 earnings. Gr2-winner & multiple Gr1-placed Ustinov stands at Brighthill for NZ$8,000+GST.
